Question
How can I remove some "stuck on" metal appliques from front side panels (those fake vents or scoops) without damaging the paint finish.  They appear to have been stuck on by the prior owner with a tape backing.

Answer
Steve, If they are non OEM ,original equipment mfg, they can be released from the surface by using heat from a heat gun or a heat lamp, 500 watts should do it, warm the area around the stuck on things,  make it good and warm ,don't rush, when it feels hot take a plastic scraper and start to lift up at one end and pull slowly let the heat soften the glue. Clean off any stuck glue with GOOF OFF remove [home depot].Maybe a hot day in the sun at the beach will work also.    HTH  Bill
