Auto body repair & detailing/repairing a plastic fender

Question
I have received a deep scratch in the plastic front passenger fender of my 2003 Jeep Liberty. I  heard that painting the plastic will eventually peel off. Also are you able to fill the scratch so that the fill does not loosen over time. What is my best option, painting and filling or replacing the fender?
Where will I find the answer to this question?
Thank you

Answer
Danielle.......The scratch can be repaired by a body shop. They have a zillion different processes and chemicals that they have to apply in order to guarantee the work. It involves a lot of cleaning and the application of adhesion promoters.

Go with the repair.

Good Luck
Michael
