Question
Hi!  Recently I had my '84 El Camino repainted to its orginal burgundy color, but the shop did not repaint the body side moldings because they were made out of vinyl. So now the beautiful new paint job is there but the moldings look terrible and are the old, chipped burgundy color! Yucky! I've tried looking everywhere for replacements in burgundy but can only find body moldings in two choices - black or chrome and I'd really prefer the burgundy.  Do you know where I can find burgundy colored vinyl body side moldings that I can replace into these panels or do you have any other recommendations?

Answer
Unfortunately, these would more than likely be a dealer item and you may have to spend a few extra pesos to make it look the way you want. Elco's are bringing big bucks since they no longer produce them. If I were you I would go the extra mile.
