Auto body repair & detailing/acrylic top over urethane base

Question
I'm going to paint a replacement bumper pad for my 2001 Tacoma. I don't think my hobby grade detail gun is up to the task. So I was planning to use Duplicolor base/top in spray cans. The color I need is not offered. I found a urethane base in a spray can online. Can I use this with the duplicolor acrylic clear coat?

Answer
Hi Tom,

Duplicolor spray cans are typically made with lacquer based products. So it should work over the urethane basecoat but I would really recommend that you use a SprayMax 2K Urethane Clearcoat over your basecoat. SprayMax will give much more durability and gloss.
