Question
How does replacing the entire outer shell of a vehicle along w/ replacing and rewelding the roof affect the value of the car?  I have a 2007 Kia Sportage that incurred hail damage & am concerned about this and the safety of sawing off & rewelding the roof on.  Will this majorly affect the carfax.  I'm not sure if I should keep the car fixed or as is and pocket the insurance money (trade in and buy another)

Answer
REPLACING A ROOF IS DONE ALL THE TIME. MOST ROOFS ARE GLUED ON AND SINCE YOU ARE REPLACING A FACTORY ROOF WITH A FACTORY ROOF THERE
ISN'T ANYTHING TO WORRY ABOUT.

AFTER THE REPAIRS ARE DONE AND YOU ARE SATISFIED WITH THE FINAL RESULT
ONLY YOU CAN MAKE THE DECISION AS TO SELL THE CAR FOR YOUR PIECE OF MIND.
