QUESTION: Hi Micheal,My car has been under the sun for 3 years and the paint is faded so i want to paint the car myself as a hobby and make it look decent. I've painted fenders,and bumpers and it came out ok but not the whole car can you give me some pointers on her to prepare for paint.Thanks,Luis

FIRST WASH THE CAR
CLEAN CAR WITH PAINT PREP WAX AND GREASE REMOVER
REMOVE NECESSARY TRIM
SAND DOWN WITH 180 GRIT FOLLOWED BY 220 OR 320 GRIT
SAND AGAIN WITH 800-1200 GRIT
SAND SOME MORE WITH 1500
CLEAN CAR WITH PAINT PREP WAX AND GREASE REMOVER
APPLY PRIMER
SAND
APPLY SEALER
APPLY PAINT

QUESTION: Thanks Michael,just one thing after applying primer you need to sand with 1000 grit or higher? Also which spray gun   that's not to expensive Will do the job.

AFTER PRIMER YOU CAN SAND WITH 180 OR 220.....IT WILL TAKE LONGER WITH THE HIGHER GRITS.
I WOULD DO 220 THEN 320.

YOU CAN GET INEXPENSIVE GUNS FROM AUTO BODY SUPPLY PLACES LIKE AUTO BODY TOOLMART.
YOU CAN GET A PACKAGE THAT HAS 2 GUNS FOR ABOUT 100 BUCKS.
