Auto body repair & detailing/door alignment

Question
2003 Yukon XL. My wife opened driver door in very strong winds. Now front door has shifted too close to front quarter panel and is rubbing/catching. how can I fix?

Answer
SOUNDS LIKE THE DOOR HINGES HAVE BEEN BENT AND THE DOOR CHECK HAS BEEN DAMAGED.

YOU ALSO MAY HAVE DAMAGES TO THE POST THAT THE HINGES ATTACH TO.

THE BEST ADVICE IS TO GO GET AN ESTIMATE AND THEN SEE IF YOU WANT TO TACKLE THIS YOURSELF.

THE DOOR MAY REQUIRE REMOVAL AND THE DOOR SHELL MAY HAVE DAMAGE AT THE STRAP AREA THAT PREVENTS THE DOOR FROM OPENING TO FAR.
