Question
Hi Micheal, I have a 1989 camaro that's being sitting in my driveway for 2 years and the paint is fading so I was planning to paint the car myself as a hobby, I've being doing my research and soon i will paint this car.I wanted to know what grit of sandpaper i should start with and if i can use a small square sanding machine that i have, can you give some details on what would you do to get started. Thanks Luis.

Answer
YOU NEED A DA SANDER TO PROPERLY DO THE JOB. DUAL ACTION SANDERS AND THE REQUIRED SANDPAPER TO FIT THE DA.

YOU CAN START OUT WITH 180 GRIT FOLLOWED BY A 240 GRIT AND THEN 320 GRIT.

READ THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE PRIMER AS THEY VARY AS TO WHAT THEY RECOMMEND FOR SURFACE PREPARATION.

THANKS
MIKE
