Auto body repair & detailing/fender repair

Question
Hi Dan:
Thanks for your help on the last questions. On a 2006 jetta tdi fender was broadsided and need to replace what is under the actual fender. Meaning the liner, wheel shroud, lower shroud, flange, and maybe a coolant fan relay box. Is the best way to go to a junkyard and see what is under an existing model. None of the diagrams even mention the relay which is just inside the fender?

Answer
Hello Tom
If you are looking for a breakdown of the area of your car that has been hit you will have to break it down. First, address the fender area and what will come up will be the liner, mouldings clips, etc. Inner structure diagram will show the inner fender or apron and the components you cannot see with the fender on the car. Now, if you want to see the relay and other electrical components you will need to look for an electrical layout or under hood schemata.

Hope this helps.
Dan
