Hello Gary,
I got two quotes on PPG paint for my 75 vette.

The first is on PPG top of the line for 750.00.  The second is for their second line "pro Plus"; which used to be called "value pro plus".  This quote was for 368.00.  Therefore, my question is:

Being that they are both PPG paints, and the obvious savings of 400.00 dollars, is it really a good deal for the pro plus paint as oppose to the top of the line?  I really want my car to look good and also save money.  I have heard good things about the less expensive line, but need an expert opinion.

In my opinion, if you're wanting high end show car quality "trailer queen"(Car that's driven on and off the car hauling trailer to the car shows) then you would want to go with PPG products. When applied correctly, it will hold up better and have a very good color and gloss holdout. Plus it's a little more user friendly for the shop using it.

If you're doing a nice driver (Car that's driven regularly on weekends "to the car show") then the Omni Plus or Shopline Plus would be fine. It's not going to have the gloss holdout and the color may begin to fade after several years but it hold's up pretty well for the money you spend. This lower end finish was designed by PPG to be used on like used car lot quality vehicles. Some of these are still nice cars but they have less life expectancy than that of a 2010 or 2011 vehicle. So in other words, the paint is not going to have the life expectancy that the premium PPG finish will have. But don't misunderstand, it is a very good finish.

So really you will need to evaluate your car and decide it's quality potential. Trailer Queen or Driver.
