Auto body repair & detailing/Clear coat burned off by a car wash

Question
I have a 2 year old black Lexus, and I recently had it waxed and it looks like the guy burned through the clear coat with his buffer machine. There are visible circular markings in the paint. Is there any way for me to reverse this process? I brought the car to a detailer, and he said the best he could do it always keep it waxed.

Answer
Hi Daniel! Unfortunately the only way to repair burned through clear is to refinish it. Waxing will not give you a satisfactory result. The clear must be sanded down and it might need a coat of base as well. Then it can be re cleared. Hope this helps. Thanks!
