Auto body repair & detailing/Convertible tops

Question
Hi,

Is there any big difference between vinyl and cloth convertible tops? Would one be better than other when it comes to cleaning or wearing well?

Thanks,
Don

Answer
First of all Don,
Many apologies that your question fell between the cracks, my bad for the delay.  A cloth convertible top is definitely harder to clean if it's going to be outside a lot, and if you're in an area where there's lots of trees, foliage, etc.  It's porous surface really holds the little bits of pollen, dirt, etc. and it takes some care to keep it clean.  It does look sharp and is more common I think in certain models.  Vinyl can stain also but the smoother surface, in my opinion is an advantage in keeping it clean, if it's a quality material.
Take care,
Notto
