Question
98 olds achieva, the mirror was taken off by a plow driver clearing our driveway.  Mirror has been removed.  With the mirror removal discovered the metal was bent/pulled outwards.  Any suggestions on how to push inward to align correctly?  Mirror does not sit in correct position with the metal bent out.  Thanks

Answer
Try taking a small block of wood, like a ripped piece of 2x4, and use it (and a hammer) to drive the metal back down. First, roll the window completely down, and remove the mirror. Carefully place the block on the high spots, and use a hammer to drive them down. It will take a fair amount of force. Check the mirror fit regularly, and be sure to not collapse the window run channel (if applicable in this circumstance- some cars have a run channel built right into the door frame, others do not.) Only drive the area down under the mirror, the mirror will hide the hammer marks once it's installed. Have a great evening. Bill
