Auto body repair & detailing/GMC Sierra inside latch

Question
I have a 1996 GMC Sierra 1500. Both of my doors will not open from the inside- I think the cable is loose? Any expertise or tips for fixing this problem?

Answer
Both of the inside door handles need replaced, I've seen this many, many times. The handles are made of pot metal, and the metal is starting to give way. Replacement is the only fix. Replacement handles are available through any Chevrolet or GMC dealership. They may even have them in stock. To replace, the interior panel must be removed, and the 1 rivet holding the handle bezel drilled out. Push the bezel forward, and it pops loose from it's mount. Then, carefully pry the lock and handle rods off. Install is reverse of removal. Bill
