Auto body repair & detailing/Hatchback adjustment on minivan

Question
2001 Mazda MPV LX minivan, never in wreck.

I have to slam the rear door very hard to make the door ajar warning light go out. Is the problem likely to be in the door or the door sensor (where is this sensor anyway?)?

Answer
Jim it sounds like the sensor,on the sides of the jamb around where the door closes you will see a little back plunger that you push down to make the light turn off, you might just need to adjust it out some,so you don't have to slam the door.some times if the doors get slammed it pushes the sensor back and some times it even breaks them so look it over to see that it is not cracked.
