Auto body repair & detailing/Power windows will not work in a ford taurus

Question
Hi there

I have a 96 Ford taurus. My son was in an acident and damaged the driver side door and fender. I got a used fender and door. I took my time and installed them both. My problem is I wired the door to the existing harness wire by wire(matching colors). Now none of the power windows work. I checked the wires, they seem to be correct. I checked both fuse boxes. I have no idea what to do now.

Answer
I hope you didn't cut the wires. You might have a bad master switch. Chances are, you have a bad connection or a crossed wire. That harness should have slid through the hole in the door. You might have to take that one to a shop to have it properly diagnosed. Without being right there, it's hard to tell what exactly is wrong. Check power going in and coming out of the drivers door switch (master switch) and get back to me.
