Question
We have a 99 Dodge durango and unfortunately a 16 year old son who backed it into a trailer.  There are some pretty good scrapes where the paint is peeled back and the underneath (black) part of the bumper shows.  Is it possible to repair this? Can it be somehow sanded down and repainted?  I realize the bumper is plastic.

thanks,

leah

Answer
Yes, this can be fixed. First, trim off any plastic that is sticking up from the surface with a razor blade. Then, Sand the area down with 150 grit sandpaper. Apply a coat of USC Icing, PN 26006. It sticks pretty well to just about anything, and its easy to sand. Block sand the filler, then prime with primer surfacer. Sand with 600 grit paper, scuff the rest of the bumper with a grey scotch brite, mask and paint! Bill
