Question
I have a black 1999 Chevy S-10. While I was deployed to the middle east. My wife (bless her heart) was watering our lawn and the water got on my truck. Of course the calcium spots were left on and then subsequently became very difficult to get off after being in the hot sun for some time. Whats the best way to get these spots of my finish and windshield? Thanks.

Answer
This is not an easy answer.  The degree of etching will determine how aggressive the products you use will have to be.  First off, try some 000 Steel wool on the glass with some soapy water.  Try a small area, dry it off and see if it's effective.  If not go online and find some Spot-X hard water spot remover and it will do the job for you.
As for the paint, you may want to leave that to a professional auto detailer.  The removal process by hand will leave some swirls and marks visible in the sun.  You can try a cleaner wax or wax that has some polish in it.  Dual Action Cleaner by Meguire's is a good product to use, and then rewax the area with a good wax.
Thanks for serving our country -- I appreciate you for that.
