Auto body repair & detailing/Scratched bumper

Question
Aloha,

Is there anyway to repair a scratched bumper? Just bought an used 2006 CR-V and it has some scratches in the front bumper, probably the previous owner scraped a wall or something, not too bad though. The bumper is black color plastic, I don't think it has any paint on it. Is there a way I can sand it down with the finest sand paper and then polish it with Armor All??

Thanks ahead for any suggestions.

Eddie

Answer
Eddie-
These molded plastic textured bumper covers are usually irreparable. Only a remanufactured with advanced equipment and methods can recreate the texture. You can experiment a bit but don't expect great results. The cost of a replacement cover may surprise you however- they are usually reasonable in cost compared to some of the painted covers. Good Luck- Mark
