Auto body repair & detailing/Suburban fender flare removal

Question
I have a 98 Suburban with factory black plastic fender flares.  I would like to remove them so  they can be painted - any suggestions?  In addition to the screws that attach the flares to the fender well lip, there seems to be another fastener that is not easily accessible.

Answer
Jim-

Paint them on the vehicle. It will require a bit of meticulous masking but save you hours of labor accessing the fasteners. I believe the fronts can be removed somewhat easily but the rear flares require removal of the interior trim etc. Leave them on for sure. Rear A/C can make removal even more difficult. Good Luck- Mark
