Question
How to remove the left rear barn door from a 95 Suburban?  I have purchased a used barn door from the salvage yard.   What is the best method to remove the pins from the hinges holding the door?

Answer
I'm almost certain that if you look on the body, there are 4 plastic plugs covering up the body side hinge bolts. It's much easier to remove the hinge from the body than to pound the pin out of the hinges. If the yard pounded out the pins, or cut the hinges, there is no easy way to get the pins out. I have an air hammer with a pointed chisel bit that I use to get them started out, and even that is a real bear sometimes. A drift punch and a hammer might get them started out, but expect to pound the bjesus out of the pins. You might try heating up the hinge around the pin to get the hinge to relax it's grip. Bill
