Question
i was wanting to know how long after spraying the base coat of a multipule colored vehicle how long i should wait to apply tape over freshly sprayed base to aplly another color, and then how long i have to apply the clear coat to the vehicle

Answer
Read the label onthe base coat color can, that should tell you most of what you need to know. I would say, about 45 minutes at 70 degrees F. to tape over BASE COAT paint. If you're applying many coats of different colored base coat paint, I'd give the base an hour to set up, or at least double what the manufacturer recommends. Keep a fan running the whole time, and for at least 30 minutes after applying the last coat of clear. Put the first coat of clear on medium wet, it will help keep metallic colors from mottling, or going blotchy. Just a little tip. Bill
