Question
I had an 18 inch crack in the windshield of a 2000 toyota corolla shaped like an upsidedown J..after a year it spread along the whole windshield bottom, paralell to the dash about 3 inches up...I always see cars with cracks in the window..is there any danger of the windowcollapsing into the car during regular driving conditions?

Answer
Windshields are made of a laminate glass which has a thin layer of plastic between the layers of glass. So, no the glass won't "fall in".But, in a front impact the air bags may not function as they are supposed to.Check with your insurance co.,you may have a $0 deductable glass replacement option on your policy.
