Auto body repair & detailing/door dent paint remover fix

Question
I have an 04 Black Infiniti FX35 and am very anal about where I park it.  If it is
not parked in the north 40, then I try and park on a curb so only one side is
left vulnerable.  I recently got a door ding that left white paint on the left rear
door.  I took it home and being the anal car owner that I am, took some
scratch out and tried to buff out the paint mark.  Well, I got the white paint
off, but it left a "shadowing effect".  I have washed and waxed this area to no
avail, and the shadowing is still there.  What can I do to get rid of the
shadow/halo without taking it into get it professionally "fixed"?  I'll deal with
the dent later.  Thank you!

Answer
Best bet is to get hold a a reputable PDR -Paintless dent repair outfit to get the dent out (maybe 75 bucks) and once the area's flat, use some Meguiar's Scratch-X to polish out the marks.  Being black, you should wax a larger area to make the really "new" area less obvious.  In reality, a good PDR craftsman will polish out the area when he's done and you won't have anything to worry about -- especially if you ask him if he buffs out the scratches when he's done :)
