Auto body repair & detailing/door handle

Question
I have a 1998 GMC Sierra extended cab w/third door on passenger side. My drivers side door will only open from the outside not the inside. I removed the vent at the bottom of the door and i can get the inside latch to work if I push it by hand another 1/16" to 1/8" more. Is my door latch worn or is something bent? Any help will be appreciated.

Answer
The inside door handle is just about to break. It's a very common problem wiht your model truck. A color coded replacement handle assembly, complete with inner bezel, is available thru GM. To replace, the inner door panel must be removed, and 1 rivet drilled out of the bezel. Push it forward, it releases. Remove lock and handle rod, install new part. Sorry this is late, I'm having trouble with my email for sone reason. Bill
