Auto body repair & detailing - estimate

Expert: Mark Haben - 3/19/2007

Question
1971 Plymouth Road Runner.
12in scratch above rear fender wheel well
I am looking at an estimate of 18 hours
Does that seem right?

Answer
Diane-

It is very difficult for me to respond without being able to actually see the damage. It may seem extreme but there are many factors to consider here. Age of vehicle and color match for instance. An older vehicle will always require more work for the shop than a newer vehicle. It can be nearly impossible to match colors that are either faded or custom mixed. Many shops will refuse to work on older vehicles for this reason. Try to find a shop that specializes in older cars, classics or restorations. Good Luck. Mark
