Auto body repair & detailing/fading paint

Question
I have a 99 Town and Country that is a candy apple red with a clear coat on it. the hood and roof are starting to fade. I was wanting to know if there is some kind of product to restore the paint? i have only owned it for 2 years and just noticed the problem this spring. i have always hand waxed my cars with a good brand and used a auto buffer. can a rubbing compound or paint cleaner from Maguire's get through the clear coat? thanks for any advise you can give. Jim

Answer
If you mean fade, by the color is turning pinkish instead of being the nice, vibrant red color, there is nothing you can do. The sun has just bleached out the color. I looked at a mustang Friday with the same color, same problem. If you mean the color is dull and has little shine, power buffing with some meguars rubbing compound, followed with some wax, will do the trick. Bill
