Question
HI WILLIAM THANKS FOR YOUR HELP TO ALL PEOPLE ON SITE ITS REALLYHELPFUL TO ALL I'M SURE. I PAINT ALOT OF CARS TO HELP PEOPLE OUT WHO ARE HURTING FINANCIALLY. I USE NASON HOUSE COLORS THEY REALLYSHOOT WELL. HOWEVER I CAN'T SEEM TO GET THE PEARLS RIGHT ON THESE CARS . IT SEEMS TO BE RAISED UP TO THE TOP FREQUENTLY. I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL BY ANY MEANS BUT AM EXPERIENCED. I AHAVE TRIED ALL I KNOW TO CORRECT THIS. I ALSO OFTEN GET ORANGE PEELS. CORRECTED BY HEAT OF COURSE. I LIVE IN ALABAMA HOT AND HUMID. ALL OTHER PAINTS GO ON AND LOOK BETTER THAN BASE COAT ECT. WET SANDING DOESN'T WORK. I HAVE TO WAIT TWO DAYS WET SAND AND CLEAR COAT. IS THERE A SHORT CUT? HELP PLEASE AS THIS IS A NON PROFIT DEAL. THANKS SO MUCH PATRICK.

Answer
Sorry, Pat, paint doesn't perform well in extremely humid conditions. Especially with cheaper paints, like Nason. Try using 1500 on a DA sander, you need a special backing pad, then power buffing the car. Buffing is a fact of life, especially without a booth. It sounds like you are WAY  over applying the base coat, it's supposed to go on corn cobby and dry. Either that, or your first coat of clear is being applied too wet, and you are releasing th pearl from suspension. That is called mottling. Try putting the first coat on sort of medium wet, don't get all gun happy and flood the horizontal panels with clear. The clear will burn into the base, and the color will go blotchy. bill
