Question
I know this is bad but can you give me an idea of just HOW bad?? I was driving in the snow and had to chose slamming into the van in front of me or the curb to the right of me. i chose the curb and slammed into the storm drain. i cant explain the damage so here is a picture.

Answer
You made a wise move on going for the drain. You did a lot less damage and also avoided legal hassles.I would guess a lower control arm and possibly a strut, knuckle, hub and bearing. And probably the wheel and tire.Have some measurements taken and the shop can tell you exactly what you will need.Areyou going through ins.? If not call the junk yard and get a used "knee" assembly for about $150.Installation and an alignment should be about an extra $200 to $300.
