Auto body repair & detailing/replace front left fender on Honda Accord 1990

Question
I am trying to replace the front left fender and headlight assembly on a 1990 Honda Accord four door.  So far we are having trouble getting the old one off.  We have loosened the trim on the bottom of the drivers door and are working to take off the front bumper.  Anything we have missed, suggestions for how to do this more efficiently? Keep breaking off bolts and wearing down plastic fasteners.  Thoughts?

Answer
You must be in the rust belt. Bolts will get rusty and brake on most older small cars and trucks that use 6mm bolts and smaller. The plastic clips can be replaced at your nearest auto body supply store or the dealer. Yes, the bumper must come off most models to replace the fender. Check for bumper bolts behind the park lamps. Some Hondas put them there. You will probably have to pull the fender splash shields as well. Be gentle, older cars in the rust belt will take more time because of the rust. Good luck, let me know how it comes out or if you need more info.
