Question
HI BILL, CROSSHAIRS ARE ONLY VISIBLE ON SCREEN WHEN MOUSE IS BEING MOVED. WITH MOUSE AT REST THEY DISAPPEAR AND A FLASHING VERTICAL BAR ABOUT 1/16" WIDE APPEARS IN COMMAND PROMPT LINE. IF YOU MOVE THE MOUSE THE CROSSHAIRS REAPPEAR AND THE FLASHING BAR GOES AWAY. I USE THE CROSSHAIRS TO LINE UP ITEMS AND WITH THEM DISAPPEARING ALL THE TIME, ACCORDING TO THE AMOUNT OF MOUSE MOVEMENT ITS A PAIN. I HAVE RELOADED THE SOFTWARE, CHECKED THE MOUSE, ETC. SAME PROBLEM. WHEN ACAD INITIALLY BOOTS CROSSHAIRS STAY ON THE SCREEN TILL YOU TOUCH THE MOUSE. THEN ITS THE SAME PROBLEM AGAIN.   THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.    WALT

Answer
Walter:  Off the top of my head, I can't really come up with an answer.  However, I'll try to find out about this problem for you.  In order to investigate, give me an idea what your equipment is.
1. Monitor type - CRT, LCD
2. If CRT, what frequency is it set for?
3. What Video Card are you using?
4. Have you downloaded the latest drivers for you video card?
I'll ask around about this problem.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
