Question
QUESTION: my pc core2 duo 500gb, 2gb ram, only draw one room with
3 desks, 3 chairs, some telephone, i can not get it fast enogh
send to plot take about 5 minutes, pls help me to accelerated
the machine. thank you very much my autocad version 2007

ANSWER: One thing that I know slows plotting down is if your printer folder has printers in it that are no longer on line or connected to your computer.  Also, print to file in order to see what the file size is that you are creating for the plotter to handle.  You may need to increase memory in your plotter.  Make sure your plotter drivers are up to date.  That will insure that spooling will occur as fast as that which is available.  Make sure "plot in background" is not checked in your plot dialog.

Let me know how it goes.

QUESTION: thank you for your kind assistance, but my main point is when
i work with 3d only one room 3 desks, 3 chairs and some telephone, i could not work, when i pan it not follow the cursor it seem very very slow my hard disk is 500gb, and 2 gb
ram. what is size of ram to work as fast as in 2d work,do i have to setting something op set? thank you again

Answer
Panchai:
Autodesk says that we need to have a minimum of 2GB of RAM to run their software.  But for 3D applications, like AutoCAD Architecture, they still say that 2GB is minimum, but recommend at least 3.  So, that being said, if they recommend 3, I guess it wouldn't hurt to have 4.

Another thing that slows computers down is SPYWARE.  I recommend getting a good ani-spyware program.  There are two of them that are free.  LAVASOFT.COM has one called AD-AWARE and Patrick Kolla has SPYBOT.  Both are good and some people use both, claiming that one program complements the other.  Every now and then, completely erase your Windows\Temp folder.  You also need to occasionally delete temporary internet files.

To delete temporary Internet files:
In Internet Explorer, click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.
On the General tab, under Browsing history, click Delete.
In the Delete Browsing History dialog box, click the individual button for the type of information you want to delete, or click Delete all to remove all temporary files.
When you have finished deleting the files you want to, click Close, and then click OK.

Temporary Internet files aren't always benign files that take up space on your hard drive.  Some are running processes that take up processor resources that cause things like mouse hesitation, momentary cursor disappearance, etc.

Let me know how it goes.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
