AutoCAD/Autocad Bitmap Image - Border issue

Question

Prize Wheel
I currently use AutoCAD 2002 and am moderately familiar with the program.  I've completed training up to level two.
My question is - I've imported bitmap images into an existing drawing (Insert-Image Manager-Attach), but cannot get them to print without a border around them.  The drawing is very simple - a few circles and some pictures.  I've tried adjusting the lineweight, linetype, transparancy (on and off), image clip (yes/no) and have had no luck.  I've also tried cutting and pasting the picture directly from MS Paint, but that left me unable to rotate the picture to fit it to the odd anges within the drawings.  Please help!  I've attached a picture for reference.

Answer
Hi --

I hope I can inspire you to use HELP and GOOGLE when you are stuck.
In this case, HELP would have led you to the solution --- and I Googled "autocad image border" and got lots of good information.

What you are seeing is called a Frame, however. It is an AutoCAD object, while the bitmap is not. Type IMAGEFRAME and follow the choice that hides the frame. Later, if you want to change or move the image, you must turn IMAGEFRAME back on.  Later releases have a third choice, allowing the frame to be non-plotting.

I am glad you are learning, and MOST of the basics are the same, but your release is 7 years old. If are using it to make a living, and you have some $$$, it would seem smart to buy AutoCAD LT2009 and some good books. One can work faster with the newer tools.
