QuestionGood day.... i am using autocad 2002, and have some how lost my right click fuctions. I had it set up so that my right click would bring me to a list that allowed me to move, copy, rotate, erase.... pretty much all the important stuff. Now I cant do anything! The menu that I get only has windows version copy, undo and zoom. it's very hard to work this way.... i have to type every comand in! My CAD Support guys think im smoking something because they have never heard of it being that way before. I cant even use the delete key on the keyboard. I have tried all the SHORTCUT menu numbers 1-11.... none of them do anything that I Need. PLESE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!
AnswerYou've definitely got a problem with your menu file somewhere. Did you make the move, copy, etc. commands as custom menus for your right click? Any chance you backed that menu up?
All the commands you've mentioned, I've used short cut keys since R10. I quit messing with menus back then because of problems like this and the places I was working at not knowing how to reload the basic menus.
First thing I would try to do was to get the original menu reloaded and then see about customizing it again. This time, make sure you make a backup copy of the menu somewhere outside of any autocad or autodesk directories. You should be able to just use a partial menu for the right click commands.
Worse case scenario, you'll have to reinstall Autocad. Sometimes, that's the least time consuming method of doing troubleshooting. It's a hard one to suggest at times but, when you need to get projects out, do what it takes to get them out. You can spend hours trying to find just what setting has changed because of a lisp routine you might have run somewhere or for any one of a million reasons. Sometimes, it's just best to reinstall.
Let me know how it works out or if you have any further questions.
