Question
QUESTION: In block editor I need to go into the properties of a parameter but, the property box comes to view with a blank screen with "No Selection" in the box at the top  This is a recent event, how can I fix this?  I have tried shutting down and restarting...No Change.

ANSWER: Well, we're at the beginning of the month (kinda), and this is a common occurence for this kind of behaviior.  ESPECIALLY if you have a Windows registry cleaner.  Anti-Virus programs like McAfee have registry cleaners.  The only way to fix it is to do a repair reinstallation.  You will need to use your original installation disk, use the Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, find AutoCAD, click on it, click on CHANGE, click on Repair or Reinstall, Click on Repair Registry.  The rest is self-explanatory.

Let me know how it goes.

QUESTION: I had already completed that task and still no results.  Also I currently don't have any registry cleaners on my computer that I know of.  I also restored my computer back a week and still no change.  will removing autocad and reinstalling it correct the situation?  and If so do I need to get a new activation code?

Answer
Wow.  This is very unusual.  So you restored your computer back a week.  Was the properties palette reporting the parameter OK in BEDIT last week?

Certainly give a complete repair installation a try.  Perhaps a DLL got corrupt.  A complete repair reinstallation should take care of that. (not just registry, this time) I don't see a need for a new activation code at this point.

I was checking the NET and I see you posted in CADTutor as well.

Getting support from the reseller is a last-ditch solution, but one that should not be counted out.

At the bottom of this page is a Dynamic Blocks experts reply to blog form:

Pose your question there as well.  The Autodesk KB isn't turning up anything on this.

I'll take the question to the newsgroups.

I'll do another follow-up soon

Greg:  Further investigation of this problem has turned up nothing.  Therefore, a complete repair reinstallation is recommended.  There is no need for a reactivation code to do that.  Do not uninstall first.  At least not yet.  Hopefully by now you have already done this and everything is working well.  If after attempting this, you still are having the same problem, it is advisable to contact your Autodesk products reseller for support.

Let me know how things go.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
