AutoCAD/Error Message

Question
I am using AutoCAD 2000 and have been for 3 years or better. I have prepared a drawing and saved it, had to back in to make changes and tried to save it and I received the following message:
Unable to save to drawing (to file name)as it is being used by another session.  The only way I can save is to give it a different name.  I have never encountered this. What is going on?  I have restarted my computer to no avail. Can you help me?

Answer
Hi Kaye,

By any chance, did you move to a different operating system?  It almost sounds like a vista issue to me.

One other thought would be that you've saved these files to a CD for backup and you're pulling them off the CD's to work on.  Those files would have read only attributes assigned to them.  You can remove the attributes by selecting the individual files or all the files in a directory, then right click, then uncheck the read only attribute box.

I'm leaning more towards the second option as a solution even if you didn't back the files up to CD.

Let me know if it works.
