Question
What is ordinate dimensioning

Answer
Hi ---

PLEASE NOTE THAT I ASK FOR INFORMATION FROM EACH QUESTIONER -- this is very important in my knowing how to reply. You did not give it-- please understand I ask for good reason.

And, meant nicely --- if you were my student, asking for a definition of a term, I would insist you look it up yourself, then ask if there were still more you needed to know. Learning how to look up and figure out things is essential, or you just get stuck.

However:
Ordinate Dimensions
Ordinate dimensions are not really dimensions at all in that they do not indicate a measurement. Rather they annotate known co-ordinate points. The DIMORDINATE command is used to indicate the X and Y ordinate values at any point.

In other words, it is a description of where a point lies in your drawing area
not a dimension
not related to any measurement of any object's size
and not really applicable to most everyday users.

I am good at helping Architects and Interior Designers who are intimidated by Autocad, ADT, etc. to feel comfortable, get things done. If you are in another field, I will do what I can for you. PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS TO QUESTIONER-- MOST DON'T FOLLOW THEM, AND IT MAKES IT VERY HARD TO ANSWER WELL-- THANKS
