hello J.B how are you doing
i was wondering if i can make autocad 2008 start faster and run faster , i bought a new computer a dell quad core with 4GB memory and 1GB Nvidia graphic adapter , still autocad starts slow and operates slowly my cad drawings are not big in size , max two and half megabytes , i took all the advises by cleaning system temp files and cleaning registry and defragging hard drive and all this windows tuneup tricks but with vein.
so if you have any tricks to make autocad 2008 run and operates faster ill appreciate it

Hello, since you have a new PC, i don't think defragmenting/registry cleaning will render any performance improvements. However, i'm guessing you have a Windows Vista 64-bit, since you have a 4GB memory. Is your Autocad 2008 a 64-bit system as well or just a regular 32-bit system? If you have the regular 2008 Autocad installed in a 64-bit system then there's a potential instability for Vista to process Autocad - not compatible.
One way to circumvent this scenario is to create a dual-boot system for Windows XP (32-bit system) & then install your Autocad 2008 in this new partition.
