It appears that you may have inadvertently modified your Support File Search Path.  Anoother possibility is that you may have edited ACAD.PGP and made it invalid.  If you can type (finefile "acad.pgp") from the command line and it returns nil, then the Support File Search Path has been changed.  It needs to be restored like it was when you first set up AutoCAD.  You will need to have your original AutoCAD setup disk in the CD or DVD drive.  In your Windows Control Panel, look for Add/Remove Programs.  Click on that, then scroll down to your AutoCAD program and click on it.  Find the "Change" button and click on it.  Click on "Reinstall or Repair AutoCAD"  There are three options on the next dialog.  Depending on what action you took that caused the problem, any one of them might work.  On your first try, I would use "Repair Registry".  If after completion, that didn't take care of the problem, go back and run it again, but pick the "Repair errors in my AutoCAD Installation" option.  Then, as a last resort, if it still doesn't work, do it again and pick the top one:  "Reinstall AutoCAD".  Even if AutoCAD was able to find an ACAD.PGP file, it might be ruined (made invalid).  This reinstallation sequence will fix that.  Unfortunately if you have an invalid PGP file, it will probably take the complete reinstallation to fix it.

If before you attempt a reinstallation, you can find the PGP file with (findfile "acad.pgp"), then write a follow-up to your question and I'll help you replace it.  Also, when you write, ALWAYS include the version of AutoCAD you are running.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
