Question
Bob,

Did you ever get your earlier question answered:
Question
I have loaded Architxt, Archtitl, and Archquik into my AutoCAD LT 2006 font folder. If I bring drawings into 2006 from a disk or my old 97 LT program simplex keeps getting substituted for Architxt. If I change the format to Archtitl some of the text in the drawing changes but not all. Setting the font to Architxt has no effect. The Architxt, etc. fonts are listed in the text style dialogue box. I'm an architect and have been using AutoCAD LT 97 for 8 years. 2006 is new for me. I can't seem to get rid of the simplex font. What to do?

I havev the same problem.  Thanks,  mark

Answer
Hi -- sorry, whichever earlier question you mean, It is not ocming to mind today.

Let's see if I can help with your mystery. You know that Simplex is the font AutoCAD gives you when it does not know to give you something else. I also cant go back with you to figure out if you may have done something wrong in LT97 last year, or 8 years ago.

1-- rather than "bring them in" -- I want to be clear you mean "open with".  What happens when you open them in 2008 and save as 2007, then 2004, then 2000 formats? (yes, open one and save it as 3 names to see what you get)
This might get around the fact that the oldies are from 4 file formats back, when there might have been different parameters and code in AutoCAD.
2-- by "change the format" -- you mean "change the font", I think, not "change the text style"?  Or do you????  If you mean you went to the Format menu and changed the style, that does not change old objects.
I am a bit confused when you mention text styles and fonts. What happens when you select all the text and change it in the Properties Palette to your preferred text style ??
3-- presumably, you have created an office template, so that any new drawing you start will have all your layers, layouts, and styles in it -- if not, you ought to do so at once.

What happens if you take  a new drawing created in 2008. as above and WBLOCK or paste in the old drawing?

Right now, I cant do more than pick at it this way. Write back with replies to the above, and I will ask a friend if necessary.
