Question
Hi.

I want to learn how to draw a line from a specific point to an existing line, but the line from the point to the existing line has to intersect it at a specific angle, say 45 degrees. How do I do that??

Thanks

Answer
Have you tried using the "extension" osnap?  Start your line command, pick your first point, then shift and right click, then select the extension osnap.  Now just hover over the end of the line you want to extend to and as you drag your cursor away, it will show a dashed line when you are aligned with the end of that line.

Now, if you have to have an exact angle (like 45 in your example), that will take a bit of lisp programming to make your own command.

You could also just draw your second line at any distance but, at the correct angle, then do a fillet with a radius of zero and that will bring both lines to meet where you need them to meet.  I realize that's a couple of extra steps but, short of writing a lisp routine, that's about your best bet so far.

Hope that helps.
