AutoCAD/Zoom extents double click scroll button

Question
I recently had to replace my mouse - it just died.  Anyways, I replaced a logitec mouse with a Microsoft 5 button intellezoom mouse (the comfort optical mouse 300 to be exact).

I cannot seem to make the zoom extents work when I double click the mouse.

I have tried the following:
MBUTTONPAN - changed the settings to both 1 and 0
Setting the scroll button to AutoScroll and Middle Button (neither worked and there are no options for the AutoScroll)
Deselecting the option to have scroll windows show in options tab.

None of these have worked, I am about to go and purchase another logitec as I know they have worked in the past.  I am using AutoCAD 2002 and Windows Vista.

Thanks for any help.

Answer
The Microsoft mice work, and usually more reliable in AutoCAD than Logitech.  It's very unusual that an MS Intellimouse doesn't work.  Did you install the software that comes with the mouse?  That's very imortant.  Those are the drivers the mouse needs in order to do what it's supposed to.  The driver installation places a little mouse icon in your system tray.  Double click that or you can use: Control Panel; Mouse.

If that doesn't help, keep the dialog going and let's get the problem solved.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
