AutoCAD/partial viewport showing in plot

Question
I've got my viewports layer set to no plot.  When I do a preview or plot, part of the viewport border shows up.  On one page it's on the bottom, on another it may be on the side or elsewhere.  Makes my drawings look pretty bad.  I've upgraded drivers for my video card, tried drawing recovery in case something was bad, changed layers to defpoints (the lines still show there as well).  At wits end.  Using ACAD '09.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Make sure there is no other object overlaying the viewport.  Sometimes you can make a viewport out of a closed polyline.  So, when you pick your viewport, to change its color or layer properties, make sure you select the viewport using a crossing window of fence.  That will select both the polyline or other object you used to make the viewport and select the viewport, too.

If this doesn't do it for you, keep the dialog going.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
