Question
I get this message everytime I try to start the program:
FATAL ERROR:MakeCfg:Can't read template file.

The only thing I can think of is that I had corrected the computer day and time the previous session.

Answer
Stephen, my apologies for the delay. I think your default template is just corrupted. Try using other templates (*.dwt), locate one & then proceed to following command line switch.

1.Locate your AutoCAD icon on the desktop.
2.right-click on the icon and select Properties.
3.In the Properties dialog box, select the Shortcut tab.
4.On the Shortcut tab, you will need to edit the value in the Target box.
When making changes to the Target text box, make sure you don’t accidentally remove any section of the application path or filename itself.Move the cursor all the way to the right in the Target text box. It should be after the value “C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 200X\acad.exe” or after any switches that might be present already. Add the switch as illustrated below:

“C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 200X\acad.exe” /t “c:\drawings\templates\ARCH_E1.dwt”

Note: Use your actual location of the new template (ie. “c:\drawings\templates\ARCH_E1.dwt”). Click the Ok button. Double click on the icon & cross your fingers. If you still get the error, recheck & ensure all file paths are correct. You might have to reinstall. Let me know!
