AutoCAD/Large PLT files

Question
Hey Bill,
I am running Auto CAD LT 2002 When I import (drag and drop) a DWG into my drawing everything comes in fine, The problem comes along when I try to plot the drawing. Normally the file size is around 320 KB and the plot file would run about 175 KB. After I import the DWG file the drawing file stays about the same, but the plot file will jump up to 4,500 KB
The imported DWG file is using an arial.ttf font font style. If I change the properties then the text is overlapping and out line.
The other catch is that other work stations using the same setup are getting much smaller plot files.
Any ideas on how to get a smaller plot file, I am under the belief, after running different tests and scenarios, that the large plot files are tied some how the the text style.
Any help and ides are greatly appreciated.

Answer
Bill:
One of the things that can cause extra-large plot files is if you have your TEXTFILL system variable set to 0 - especially while using TTF fonts.  Another thing is using a large wipeout to cover large portions of your drawing.

Check those two things and then get back to me.  If I didn't hit the nail on the head or at least point you in the right direction, let me know, and I'll keep trying.

Expertise

I can address all 2-D questions and some 3-D questions. I do programming in AutoLISP if it doesn`t involve solid modeling. I can also address menu customization issues and can help you find answers to questions I can`t answer by taking your question directly to Autodesk via their newsgroups.

Experience

I used to do electronic and mechanical design for a flat panel monitor manufacturer, and now I do architectural drafting for an architect. I did and do AutoLISP and menu customization and take pride in making my lisp routines to do the work exactly the way the client likes them done.

Publications
I had a routine published in CADENCE magazine (no longer in publication and taken over by CADALYST). Some of my routines are published on my website at http://my.sterling.net/~bdeshawn
