About Bob
Expertise I am good at getting Architects and Interior Designers who are intimidated by Autocad, ADT, etc. to feel comfortable, get things done.
PLEASE GIVE ME:
1- some background on you and your skills, and what field you are working in, so I can reply at your level and dont give architecture answers to an engineer
2- the reason you want to do what you are asking, so I will know I am helping you to get to a goal (maybe I have a better way to suggest)
3- the release of AutoCAD you are using
4- how much AutoCAD training you have taken
THAT WAY -- your question will be easy to answer more clearly. Thanks, BOB

AutoCAD - RIGHT CLICK ON LAYOUT TABS NOT WORKING
Expert: Bob - 9/1/2008
Question HI,
I JUST CONVERTED FROM PC TO MAC WITH AUTOCAD 2006. NEVER HAD A
PROBLEM BEFORE GETTING RIGHT CLICK TO COPY OR RENAME IN THE LAYOUT
TABS BUT THERE IS NO RESPONSE AT ALL. CAN YOU HELP ME?
Answer Hi --
I am trying to wrap my mind around your question to see if I can help.
1-- I guess you mean you are using "Virtual PC" or some other program, in order to run Windows, thus, Acad, on a Mac. AutoCAD does not run on a Mac OS-- period,
I just consulted with a firm which works this way, because the principal likes big white Macs in his all-white studio. Of course, it slows AutoCAD, but their work is simple.
The operations you describe work fine on all 8 computers there -- I personally used them.
Your lack of giving the specs of the Mac is an obstacle. Should I assume it is a powerful, new one? If it is a "secretary Mac" and older, you should have problems.
2-- IF IT IS ALL THE RIGHT CLICKS
I am wondering why you are sure this is an AutoCAD question, rather than a computer question. If I had the same problem, I would go to Windows Control Panel and check my mouse settings --- if that did not work, I would go to Options in AutoCAD and check my settings. (since the right-click is on by default.
IF IT IS JUST THE LAYOUT TABS -- I can only guess
a-- low memory -- you need extra memory to run the Virtual PC
b-- bad installation. Try a repair installation of AutoCAD.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU TYPE THE COMMAND?? Type LAYOUT, then select an option. If this works, and you have checked the mouse settings, etc.
Either do a repair install, or just use the command line, assuming the (sorry, always bastardized) installation on the Mac is at fautlt.
Write back with more facts, and I will try to help.
BOB
