Question
Hi J.B.,

My question has to do with my mouse. It behaves erratically when using AutoCAD. I thought it must be the batteries or signal strength, but it actually works fine in all other programs except AutoCAD. I threw my last mouse away for the same reason. The first one was a Microsoft Intellipoint Explorer. This one is a Logitech. It seems to work OK for awhile, but not for long. Basically, the cursor is "jumpy". At worst, it gets "stuck" for a second or so any time I cross over a line in the drawing. Obviously very annoying.

Thanks!!!

Answer
Shaun, what version of autocad are you using? Assuming you have the most current mouse drivers, Autocad Service Packs, Video Card drivers, & If you're using '08, you might have to set 'Selectionpreview' to '0'. This variable causes objects to be highlighted when you hover over them. It can bog down your system.
Personally, i find this feature most annoying since i work a lot w/ xref's.
Additionally, this erratic behavior also happens even when your osnaps are off?
Hope this helps...let me know!

-JB
