About Bob
Expertise I am good at getting Architects and Interior Designers who are intimidated by Autocad, ADT, etc. to feel comfortable, get things done.
PLEASE GIVE ME:
1- some background on you and your skills, and what field you are working in, so I can reply at your level and dont give architecture answers to an engineer
2- the reason you want to do what you are asking, so I will know I am helping you to get to a goal (maybe I have a better way to suggest)
3- the release of AutoCAD you are using
4- how much AutoCAD training you have taken
THAT WAY -- your question will be easy to answer more clearly. Thanks, BOB
Experience Interior Design and Space Planning. Autodesk U. 2000 and 2001.

Question Hi Bob,
My question has to do with my mouse. It behaves erratically when using AutoCAD. I thought it must be the batteries or signal strength, but it actually works fine in all other programs except AutoCAD. I threw my last mouse away for the same reason. The first one was a Microsoft Intellipoint Explorer. This one is a Logitech. It seems to work OK for awhile, but not for long. Basically, the cursor is "jumpy". At worst, it gets "stuck" for a second or so any time I cross over a line in the drawing. Obviously very annoying.
Thanks!!!
Answer Hi
It is late Sunday here --- if you dont mind, I am not going to open AutoCAD and check the exact setting, but tell you how to look for your own answer, and meanwhile learn how to look.
First, you did not tell me your experience level-- I am going to have to assume it is low, then.
I dont know why you think the problem is the mouse --- it seems to be a setting in your AutoCAD. However if it is a large drawing and a weak computer, that might have some effect.
First be sure SNAP is turned off at the bottom of the drawing window, and review your OSNAP settings to make sure that only those you need are on.
I want you to go to OPTIONS and search through all the tabs like User Preference, Selection -- really, most of them. Try changing the most likely setting --- it might be Magnet, or ??? -- close OPTIONS, and see if your problem is gone. If not, go back, restore the setting, and try another.
Good luck. If you cant fix it, write back with the exact things you tried, plus
-- your experience
-- the release of AutoCAD you have
