Question
I have autocad 2002 lt. How do I change solid hatch to background or foreground in this version of autocad?

Answer
Hi Al,

You can use the command DRAWORDER and you should be able to select your hatch and send it to the back. In theory that is how it works. It got a lot better in later releases including a gradient hatch that you could make nicely transparent.

My own experience with this involved using ACAD to create diagram drawings (as opposed to technical construction drawings) and if you are doing something like that you can change your lines to plines and give them a thickness and they will show up better on top of the hatch.

The one other trick we've used when showing boundaries, was to create a pline around the area, offset about twice our text height and hatch using ANSI31 between the two plines, then the plines were just deleted.

Hope one of these methods helps you out!
