Question I have installed AutoCAD 2005 on my pc and I get the messege.."Your version of AutoCAD 2005 isn't compatible with this version of Windows" I am using Windows Vista spi..I am trying to just get set up to do some drawngs from home and to be able to e-mail the results out to customers. Any suggestions greatly appriciated. As always Kymberly
Answer Hi-- Here is the standard answer:
VISTA has a compatibility mode option to install old software: explore it in
Vista's Help and Microsoft's website.
Any software created before Vista should need the compatibility mode. You probably need to totally uninstall 2005 first, and start over. The potential problem is that remaining stuff in the registry after the uninstall MIGHT mess up the new Compatibility mode install. You wont find out until you try --- if you do have problems, you will have to have the guts to delve into REGEDIT, or get some help.
This is an IT question, not an question on using AutoCAD (my field), btw, but that is the correct answer.
